Strut and conduit / Information

Prepare a strut and conduit quotation request

Build the quotation request from a named purchasing package and its current item schedule. Separate the products you want quoted from existing equipment records supplied for context. Identify the buyer contact, the project document owner and the reviewer responsible for considering proposed component documents.

Define the RFQ item schedule

Give each requested channel, conduit or accessory item a distinct purchasing reference. Explain what the supplier should describe against each line and identify items for which the buyer still needs clarification of the category or drawing scope.

Request separate identities for proposed additions and alternatives. Ask the purchasing owner who can approve an expanded scope and keep the original request visible when considering a revised commercial package, so a suggested item does not silently replace the buyer description.

List the supporting documents

Provide an attachment register with the current project drawings and other records needed to explain the quotation request. Ask the buyer reviewer which documents define its requirements and which documents are supplied only to describe the surrounding project context.

Mark the questions requiring a response against the relevant drawing or schedule entry. Ask the supplier to identify the attachments it has considered and request clarification when a proposed item description refers to a different drawing issue or an unidentified arrangement.

Request the review records

Ask the appointed project professional to define the records needed for the proposed component package. Request item specific drawings and documents under the corresponding purchasing references, and provide the resulting files to the reviewer for assessment of the actual proposal.

Keep unanswered document questions beside the commercial comparison. Ask for written descriptions of exclusions and proposed substitutions, and send changes affecting the arrangement or component identity back to the reviewer before accepting them as part of the purchasing scope.

State the commercial questions

Include your required quantities and target delivery timing with the RFQ. Identify the destination information relevant to the request, and ask the purchasing owner which delivery documents and commercial details it needs when comparing the proposed package.

Before authorizing an order, confirm the order requirements and delivery arrangements for the reviewed items. Preserve the final quotation references, drawing issues and scope exclusions with the buyer decision record so subsequent correspondence can identify the package actually selected for purchase.
